JQ's Winter Formal- 2010

First of all... check out JQ's hair!

I'm always proud of my special updo's :) Maybe I should have been a hair stylist?? I think I could have pulled it off!! If all else, the daughter was pleased and that is all that is important! (I really can't remember what she is talking about right here, but it must have been super important 'cuz she's got her hands on her hips and all that....)

Okay, now for all the pretty pictures!!
Here are JQ and her bestest friends, Kimmi and Sara. Here is JQ with her date, Scott.
I love her choice of purple flowers! Too pretty!
Good job Jacquie!
Way to match the blog background right now :)
A fun night for these high school seniors!

The end of High School is just around the corner.
(yep, I'm tearing up a little at that!)
One last shot of Jacquie and Scott.

The fog here lifted yesterday and today. Well, it lifted a little or for a little while. I've complained about the fog all week, but it sure did make for a pretty sky and helped the pictures turn out beautiful.

Maybe I should have been a photographer?
I think I could have pulled that off too!!

Flashback Wednesday?

We haven't seen the sun for a few days here in Bakersfield. If you didn't already know, we have only two seasons here. Summer and Fog. The fog season has arrived. We usually welcome this season as we 'school-goers' delight in the most wonderful 'Fog Delay.' For those not from these parts, a fog delay means that we get to sleep in for about 2 hours and then go to school!!

However, this year's fog has been nasty and mean. It has stayed for days, but just sits a little too high for any fog delays. (yes, there has been a lot of unhappiness in our house-- mostly from the mom!!) It is damp and super COLD!! We are freezing our butts off really cold.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the family picture from quite a few years ago. This was taken on the way home from a wonderful, fun weekend at a cabin with our neighbors. We enjoyed a lot of snow, a warm fire, and yummy hot chocolate!!

Failure

How disgusting.

While at the Wagner Bowling Cup, I remember that the kids noticed that Jim was wearing a little momento from the big order of fries the kids pigged out feasted on. What I failed to notice was that his momento was photographed.

So, here it is. A big ol' pile of ketchup right there on his shirt. (I circled it in case you needed help seeing it.)

Lovely. And he wonders why I don't want him to eat on the couch.

A New Wagdog Tradition

Here are the girrrll wagdogz just chillin' at Westchester Bowl!! We have a good time wherever we go :) We went bowling all together a few days after Christmas. We bowled two games. We decided that this must become a new Wagdog Tradition. Thus, the official Wagdog Bowling Cup Competition has begun.
Marissa, Riley, Andrea, and Jacquie have really enjoyed spending time together over the Christmas break!! Too bad school starts again soon.
I really thought I ought not post this picture. I looked at it an realized that Jim and I are starting to look old. (Really, we look old, but I don't have the heart to say that just yet.) We also look tired!! Most important though, we are still smiling!!
And here she is.... THE 2009 WINNER of the WAGDOG CUP- JACQUIE!! She beat out everyone with her amazing bowling skills!! I, Judy, got 2nd place, Jim got 3rd. Nicely done Jacquie, but watchout.... we will all try to win the cup next year!!!

Bad day...

Do you ever just feel like everyone hates you and you've had enough???

Surprisingly, Ella, really never feels that way. Even more surprising... she is actually very happy in this photo. She's in heaven because her Rissa is rubbing her tummy--look close, you can see her fingers. She is really just smiling. (And yes, it is surprising that she didn't choke on the pinecone she had in her mouth)

Maybe this is like us after all. Sometimes we show our 'teeth' but we're really happy on the inside. We're really just smiling. Maybe.

Every Wagdog Facebooks

Checking facebook and updating your status is a daily task for all Wagdogz. Even Noel checks in and sees what her friends and family are up to on Facebook!!
She was a little disappointed that she didn't get her own laptop for Christmas. Maybe you can get one next year if you don't eat Christmas ribbon and barf it up on the carpet if you are a good kitty.

Great Read!

This week I read a fabulous new book! It is always fun to pick up a new children's book to read. I read children's books for many reasons. Here are few of my best reasons:

1- they are usually short- this means I can finish them quickly!
2-I am always looking for books to recommend to my students!
3-I can always understand the vocabulary :)
4-they are free of smut clean!

If you are looking for a fun book to read, try The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate. I would recommend this book for anyone age 10 and above. A younger student who is an avid reader would also enjoy this book. This is the perfect read for any one who loves and appreciates the outdoors.

I hope you read it soon :)
