Conflict of Interest

I am the 2nd Year Hike Leader for our Stake Young Women's Camp. Andrea is a 2nd Year Young Woman.

Thus, a conflict of interest. At least while we are in the planning stages. Up at camp it will be wonderful to be together.

Although girls camp is not secret and the hike is not a surprise, I don't want my 2nd year hikers to know about the things that will happen on the hike. Last night I met with my other adult leaders on the 2nd year hike. Because I didn't want Andrea to hear about our plans and therefore spoil her hike, I asked her to occupy herself.

And here is the result.

Isn't it great that she is old enough to entertain herself??

Still playing with my self-timer. Isn't he a cutie??

Attention Book Lovers!

I love to read. Oftentimes I don't have enough time to read, but the love of books still exists in me. I love it even more when one of my friends reads a book that I just read. Isn't that the best? I love discussing a book almost as much as reading it.

One bonus of being a teacher is discussing books over lunch in the teacher lounge! I had no idea that discussing books (and yes, we discuss t.v. shows too!) would be so great. I have read many books on the recommendations of my colleagues.

As a wife, mother, and teacher what I always want is more time to read. I have ultimately come to the conclusion that I won't be able to read all the books I want to read. At least not this summer.

However, a wonderful blog is helping me out. I'll be the first to admit that it might actually add more books to my 'want to read' list, but it is entertaining to read. You might want to check it out. I think you'll enjoy it :)

Self-Timer

Riley swimming the breaststroke

Taking pictures of swimmers swimming is rather difficult. So, I finally tried the self-timer on my camera. I set it to take 10 pictures as quickly as possible.

Obviously I still need some practice. I hope the swim season lasts long enough. lol.

Andrea swimming the butterfly

I don't see photography awards in my future. However, I do see a great high school swimming career in their future!

seasters

I snapped this little pic a few weeks ago at Crystal Cove State Park.

There is nothing better than the sun, the sea, and your sisters. Oh how I love these girls (grils as Kevin used to call them.)

Speaking of Kevin...

He comes home in 53 days!!!!

Then I'll post some brother pictures:)

the wagdog frosh

Last week I took Jacquie to college.

She is starting her new life as a student of higher education. She has a new room, a new bed, a new pillow (named Sully), new books. She lives in a new place, a new town, a new state.
She is making new friends.

Here is Jacquie with a new friend. In college you must surround yourself with intelligence. Reading with smart guys is the best.

Best college advice:

Only kiss smart guys too.

Crystal Cove

We are enjoying ourselves at the beach this week. Today's post photos are compliments of the photographers RissaWag and Andee-Bee. Perhaps you've heard of them...
The above photograph is one of my favorites (by Rissa).
I love the light.
Here is the lovely California coastline.

Need I say more?

Such a cutie.

I hope you enjoy the next few posts...
We are certainly enjoying our time on vacation. It is much needed after the long school year.

A little Darth Vader to start the morning...

We are on a little vacation. :)
Vacation = Shopping (duh! for those of you who don't know me well- haha)
Just down the road is a lovely little shopping center.
We dropped into a lovely little store called Williams-Sonoma.
Ever heard of it?
Well, we saw these little pancake molds. We are, in fact, very fond of Star Wars. So, we had to splurge to get them. I couldn't wait to try them out.
Here is my cute little darth. Isn't he adorable?
We didn't have any pam or a nice flat griddle, so it wasn't as easy as I had hoped. So, we didn't try out Yoda! I was a little disappointed. The kitchen at the time share doesn't have a griddle. (I am so going to recommend they get those!) The pan we have isn't big enough for Yoda's ears.
Bummer. I know!!
I'm so in love with these molds. They had cookie cutters too. But I thought they were way too small. We decided that the pancake molds will work well for sugar cookies too. I'm sure we'll be trying that as soon as we get back home.
The Wagner reunion is just around the corner. I sense a Star Wars movie night with some great pancakes and cookies.
Andrea loved them.
Can't you tell?

A High School Graduate!

Here she comes... soon to be the latest Wagdog graduate!!
Riley, Andrea, Jacquie, & Marissa!

The 2010 CHS graduation was a success and Jacquie received the official diploma!! (not that we didn't expect that- lol)

Grandpa & Grandma Wagner came for the big event. We loved having them there. Graduation can be super long when your last name is close to the end of the alphabet. I laughed when Grandma said that maybe Grandpa's last name should have been Dagner instead of Wagner. :)
Very, very proud parents!
The family (minus Elder Wagner).
Don't you love how the wind is blowing our hair!! I think we look little movie star-ish!
Here are the Wagner kids with the adopted Wagner Teacher... MR. COLEMAN!! He is so glad that Riley heads to CHS this fall-- he wouldn't survive if there wasn't a Wagner at CHS.

Congratulations Jacquie! You were an awesome high school student. I know that you will love college just as much, if not more!
