Yellowstone, part three!

warning!!
this post contains LOTS of pictures :)
Animals like these can stop traffic for miles. Of course we are just like everyone else. We send the kids with the camera :)
Or we send Jim with the video camera :)

On one stop (for a bathroom break!) I spotted this little deer.

Isn't it crazy?? I hope you can see the head and the antlers.

Next we hiked to the brink of Yellowstone Lower Falls. It was an easy walk down to the brink. Walking back UP was an entirely different matter. However, see the water just as it goes over the edge for 308 foot fall was spectacular!! It was worth the steep climb back to the car.

Here is the brink.

cute kids. We enjoyed classical music (compliments of Marissa's music searching on the satellite radio). Classical music was the perfect background music for Yellowstone National Park. Completely Perfect.

This is the river and the canyon. Beautiful.
Also beautiful :)

Our day at Yellowstone was mostly perfect.

The traffic out of Yellowstone.... the ick part of the day, but we survived. We were a little late to dinner. If only the Idahoans could work on their roads during the winter. :(

Yellowstone, part two!

Our 2nd stop was at Old Faithful! We loved the two lazy buffalo lounging by Old Faithful just chewing their cud. And yes, we had a little lesson about the definition of cud. It is a little ick-ish when you really have to think about it.
Old Faithful!

Ansley, Aunt Linda, Judy, & Andrea
No one, and I mean NO ONE, says "buf-fa-lo" as cute as Ansley. We should have video taped it. :)
Yep!
Jacquie is still the photographer :)
such cute girls :)

Lunch at Old Faithful was great. How can we ever forget the lady in the skunk hat (similar to a coon-skin cap) and the macaw. I could people watch all day long at Old Faithful :)

Yellowstone, part one!

We had a wonderful time at the Wagner Family Reunion! On Tuesday, we went to Yellowstone! Jacquie was the photographer most of the time. I thought this first picture looked like a postcard. Very cool.
Our first stop was at a mud pot. It was like walking through the time of the dinosaurs. It completely reminded us of the dinosaur scene you see when you ride the train at Disneyland. Bubbling mud. Crazy cool.

Oh yes, and did I say that Jacquie was the photographer??
cute lil family shot.
Aren't our shirts awesome??!! Everyone in the Wagner family was 'sporting them' at Yellowstone. Needless to say, we looked AWESOME!!

Shaffer Baby Blessing

Last weekend we started our vacation in Utah. On Sunday we had the priviledge of attending the newest Shaffer's baby blessing.... William Brett Shaffer!
Here are my brother's children:
Jameson, Brett & Ashley, Will, Julie & Andrew
Here's the whole gang of Shaffer Cousins in Oakley, Utah!

Just a little family love...
Here's a shot to honor our pioneer heritage.
Don't these faces look 'pioneer'?
lol.
Get ready for many posts from Idaho!!
